I had just finished painting a view of a creek and its rapids (see Flint Creek Rapids), and I had packed up my supplies. When I turned around, I saw this view of the creek bank, and the exposed roots of a tree. I had to unpack my supplies and set up to capture this view. This is an 8 x 10 oil on canvas panel.
